At Berry Pomeroy we offer support for the elderly who are no longer able to cope with the practicalities of living in their own home. The Home is intended for male or female residents over the age of 65, but is not suitable for residents with restricted mobility, due to the structure and layout of the building.

On admission each resident is allocated a key worker who will assess individual requirements and develop a plan of care to ensure that needs of the resident are met and that an appropriate level of assistance is given to maintain daily living requirements.

A varied selection of freshly prepared, home cooked meals is provided daily by the in-house cook.Vegetarian options and special dietary requirements are also avaliable.

Residents are invited to attend bi-monthly meetings with the manager where issues arising in the Home are discussed, and activities and upcoming events are planned. Questionnaires are issued twice yearly to ensure that residents are able to communicate their opinions and offer suggestions for improvements.

As well as responding to everyday needs, we endeavor to assist residents to improve their quality if life by providing a safe, manageable and comfortable environment. We also provide support and stimulation to enhance their physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social potential. A library service is provided, social activities are organised and coffee mornings are held in order to welcome visitors to the home and raise money for extra amenities. Monthly services of Holy Communion are held at the home led by a Free Church Minister. The care team provide regular in house activities including reminiscence, quizzes, crafts and card/board games. Each week a local charity visits the home with a pet, our residents find this very enjoyable and stimulating.

Friends and family are welcome to visit the home at any reasonable time and are also welcome to stay for meals or refreshments.

At Berry Pomeroy we also provide facilities for respite care. This may be used as a holiday for the resident to stay near to their family or simply to give full time carers a short break.
